The Hottest Shoes & Bags Of The Season

Hello my lovelies

It's Christmas Eve and I feel like bundling up on my bed with a blanket and hot chocolate. Christmas makes me so happy, I can't even put it into words. It's the ultimate sensation of coziness and warmth. I'm actually sad it's already Christmas day tomorrow! But oh well, we still have plenty of things to look forward to. Winter sales are a good example. I already have a list down of all the things I want to purchase during sale season. Do you?

Most of us have probably purchased the winter basics up to this point: coats, pants, sweaters and the like. It's usually these extra accent pieces that we don't really put any thought into, until the sales come along and tempt us. If you've been pondering on what pair of shoes to invest into come sale season, this is the post for you.

Let's jump right in:

SHOES

1st row: 3.1 Phillip Lim/ Givenchy/ Louis Vuitton/ Oscar De La Renta - 2nd row: Joseph Altuzarra/ Gucci/ Marc Jacobs/ Prada -
3rd row: Christian Dior/ Jason Wu/ Miu Miu/ Saint Laurent - 4th row: Erdem/ Lanvin / Maison Margiela / Burberry

As you can tell from the collage above, the biggest shoe trend this season is the skinny bootie. Sturdy-heeled boots that hug the calf like a sock and are dressed in all sorts of materials, from patent leather to snakeskin to croc are the it-shoe of the moment. Thicker, rounder heels are totally in the limelight right now while low-heeled pumps are the much-needed addition to the 60s style. Over-the-knee boots are probably in every fashion blogger's closet with lace up ones being the boldest, sexiest option. Another interesting entry this season is velour, which adds a new texture to your same old pair of ankle boots. For the evening, platform heels a la 70s are big, literally and figuratively.

BAGS

1st row: Joseph Altuzarra/ Dolce & Gabbana/ Michael Kors Collection
2nd row: Maison Margiela/ Prada/ Miu Miu
3rd row: Chanel/ Louis Vuitton/ Fendi

With bags, things are more fluid. The two biggest trends are the so-called saddle bag as well as the more-vintage looking bowling bag. Tassels and suede are pretty much everywhere but there's also a good portion of patchwork happening too. Statement bags are where it's at, with funky prints and unique textures being in the spotlight. For the evening, a decorated duffel bag is a cute idea that adds a little something-something to a look without being obnoxious.

Hope you enjoyed and.. Merry Christmas!
