My Holiday Gift Guide For Everyone

Hello folks of the Internet,

Are you in a festive mood yet? I'm a very Christmassy person but I only fully experience the spirit of Christmas once December kicks in and the tree is up. I know people in the States start the festivities a little sooner because of Thanksgiving and frankly, I'm a little jealous. 

It's truly the most wonderful time of the year. There's such a positive aura surrounding everything and anything Christmas-related that I just want to bask in all of it. The most important thing though is the act of giving and caring. It's not just about religion, it's a mindset. Christmas is the time to be kind (well to be honest, any time is the time to be kind). It's the time to be a little more thoughtful and a little less selfish. Everyone can benefit from this mentality and outlook, no one can lose.

Giving and receiving gifts is a very special tradition in my family. We have a whole ritual we've held on to for years and that I look forward to every December. The buying process on the other hand can become a little stressful. Sometimes you just get stuck, it happens to all of us. So yet again, Internet comes to the rescue. 

In this year's gift guide I decided to do little separate assortments that fit each style, depending who you're shopping for. Instead of grouping everyone together with the simple categorization being "for him" and "for her" I wanted to try to cater to different styles and tastes.

Hello my lovely readers,

Feeling festive yet? Christmas is my absolute favorite time of the year and I'm beyond thrilled that we're finally entering into full-on holiday season. I can't wait for fairy lights everywhere, cozy nights in with hot cocoa, Christmas food, music and all that jazz. But most of all I crave that warm, fuzzy feeling that you get around Christmas, that positive spirit that makes every day special and everything seem nicer. It's as if only for a month problems seem to go away a bit. 

And part of the Christmas spirit -or rather the core of it- is, of course, giving. Making the effort to get something for a loved one that you know will please them, giving to charity or even the simplest act of kindness towards a stranger in need is what this season is all about. And that doesn't have to be a religious thing, it should only come from the heart.

Okay, enough cheese for now, let's get onto my Holiday 2016 gift suggestions! I tried to make these as inclusive as possible but still edited so they don't seem overwhelming. From a huge array of stuff I narrowed down my top picks for everything from homewear to beauty to loungewear to boys. As you may notice I refrained from adding fashion suggestions, since fashion is something so personal that I can't suggest anything 'universal'; only you know your friend/relative's style! To be honest, I personally don't often gift people clothing/shoes (especially women) unless I know their style and size very well.

Hope you all had a great time with your friends and family these days, hope you ate well, danced as much you could, listened to Andy Williams and Frank Sinatra as much you could and of course - what else - got amazing gifts! It's the happiest season of all, after all!!

Christmas holidays means vacation which means no school and time to spend doing the things we love the most. For me, part of that was taking pictures for the blog. Here is an outfit I wore on Christmas day for a family dinner. I have never done streetstyle-inspired shots before, so I thought that was the perfect opportunity since the weather was pretty light - not your typical white Christmas you used to know (like, AT ALL)

Btw, I have this hopeless romantic soul that is looking out for all things lovey-dovey, so a friend of mine with whom I share the same taste in books, lend me this book it's called "My Name Is Memory" by Ann Brashares and it left me SPEECHLESS. It was soo good.
