November Of Style: A Series of OOTDs

How are you doing? I hope you enjoyed my last Holiday Makeup post, because I really loved writing it. Today's post is not gonna feature a lot of written content, just a few of my favorite looks that I wore during November. Back in August I decided to do these types of posts every once in a while because it's more interesting to feature a bunch of looks in one go, rather than dedicate a whole post to one outfit.

How To: Coats Of The Season

It's around this time of the year when most women are starting to go on the hunt for the perfect piece of outerwear.

Every season new trends come along, new options appear in the stores, new styles seem more and more appealing, but when it comes to buying a new coat, it's an investment you shouldn't take lightly. A t-shirt or a mini skirt you might give away next season, but a 300$ coat is something that will stick with you for months and months to come.

Now, a coat doesn't have to be that expensive per se, you can still go out and give a fun, trendy outerwear piece a try that doesn't cost much, just to satisfy your trend hunger (I get it girls, we all succumb to that one from time to time). But make sure that what you're buying is still well crafted and fits you properly. I just can't stand poorly sewn, ill-fitting coat. Your outerwear is what most people see during fall and winter, so choose wisely.

Fall Lookbook (+video!)

Our youtube channel has been going strong over the past few days and I'm so excited to see it grow and welcome more viewers and subscribers. We hadn't done fashion on our channel since our first video basically, which was last spring, so we figured it was a great time to bring to you our favorite (early) fall looks.

Some of you might find these outfits too light, as they don't provide much coverage and warmth for those who live in colder countries. The weather in Greece was still quite warm at the time I filmed the video and it was afternoon so don't jump on me for wearing sleeveless tops and spaghetti strap dresses. It's been just a couple of days now that the weather has been leaning more on the chilly, autumnal side. There's a cool breeze in the air that calls for a light cover up.

However for those of you who still wanna draw inspiration from my looks I will give you some tips on how to make them warmer and cozier for those crisp fall days.

From Summer To Fall: 7 tips to step into the season

Here we are again..

Tan lines fade and suitcases are finally being put away as we slip into September's dullness and new beginnings..

Remember when I did a post last season on how to achieve a smooth style transition from winter to spring? (You can check it here) Well, I felt it was only appropriate to do a post on now to avoid the awkwardness of having nothing to wear when the weather  does not say summer but not exactly scream autumn either. For me at least, changing up my style over that period of time helps me avoid the bore that September can be and I want to share with you 7 fast and economical ways you can get that yourself.

SANDALS vs OXFORDS/BALLERINAS

While sandals scream beach and summer dresses, ballerinas and oxford flats are the perfect preppy answer to the question what shoes to go for. Time to pull those out again and give your summer wardrobe a twist.

How to wear it: Midi

Midi length is a trend that's been around for a couple of seasons and it keeps getting bigger and bigger. Remember the times when all we wanted was to wear shorter and shorter skirts and dresses and mini was the only way to go if you opted for 'cool'. Midi skirts were always associated with older age, older decade, conservatism and definitely not any coolness whatsoever. 

It's funny how things turn around in fashion as trends come and go. Now wearing a mini is not outdated but a rather safe and quite predictable choice. Not that it's a bad thing, we all wear minis every day. But midi now holds a certain allure it never did before, that of a hip trend that only fashion-savvy girls will pull off. Plus let's not forget its practical value: you're not afraid if your underwear will show, it's always appropriate and for those that don't have Blake Lively's legs it's a lifesaver!

As you're probably familiar with this type of post now, you will realize that once again I decided to go with three different looks that each addresses a different age/style/personality. 

First comes the hip, fashion-savvy girl-next-door whose identity can vary in age since I don't find this look exceptionally limiting. I don't understand why a 40 year old woman cannot pull off this look, it seems very appropriate and even if she doesn't wanna go all out with those bright bright heels she can choose a ballerina or a loafer instead that will last her all day.

Second comes the comme-il-faut, Lily Van Der Woodsen (gossip girl lovers will understand) look that leans towards the formal side but at the same time isn't too formal/evening for one to wear during daytime. I always love unpredictable color combinations, hence the green animal print with the yellow pumps. The dress' print is quite overpowering on its own so accessorizing can be kept to an acceptable minimum.

Third goes the obviously teenager/hipster outfit that all self-respecting rock/grunge chicks envy. A hard one to pull off nonetheless, but a head-turner when done right.

Now that summer is gone and we're going through this awkward transition from summer to Fall that is called September, it feels kinda weird. We don't know what to wear, 'cause it's not exactly summer, but it's definitely not winter yet. And I'm sorry, I don't have any answer to that :P Instead, I made a set on Polyvore (god, I love that website) based on what I would like to have in my closet this Fall-Winter.

Btw, did you hear the exciting news? H&M's next big collaboration is with Lanvin (Alber Elbaz). These news are the best news I've hear in a lot of time.
